Polyferric sulfate is a commonly used water treatment agent, which is widely used in the treatment of industrial wastewater, urban sewage, oil field wastewater, etc., just like other water treatment agents.
The quality of polyferric sulfate is also good or bad. Like polyaluminum chloride, the basicity is to measure their quality. The basicity of polyferric sulfate is between 8-16%. During this period, the higher the basicity, the better Its hydrolysis coagulation performance is better.
Is the higher the basicity of the polyferric sulfate, the better? The answer is no. Generally speaking, the basicity of the polymerized ferric sulfate is stable at 16%, and its quality and effect are better. If the salinity is too high, OH ions will be deposited and the appearance will be dark yellow, which is very easy to cure, deteriorate, and is not easy to store.
Too high basicity of polyferric sulfate will cause it to be easily hydrolyzed after being added to the wastewater, and a large amount of yellow precipitate will be formed, which will make the coagulation effect worse. The coagulation effect on suspended solids becomes poor and the deodorizing effect becomes weak. The quality of the sludge formed by flocculation is not high, and the relaxation is not dense enough, which is not easy to be recycled and increases the difficulty of sludge treatment.
The stability of polyferric sulfate with too high basicity decreases. In the case of more VFA in wastewater, the hydrogen ion of polyferric sulfate will form VFA with fatty acid salts to volatilize to remove COD, and also turn soluble fatty acid salts into soluble fatty acid salts. Insoluble VFA is added, which increases the difficulty of processing.
