We all know that the PH value is the pH value. What kind of impact will the PH value have on Aluminium chlorohydrate?
The pH value of water has a great impact on the use effect of Aluminium chlorohydrate, and the pH value is related to the type of flocculant selected, dosage and coagulation sedimentation effect. The H+and OH - in water participate in the hydrolysis reaction of flocculants, therefore, pH value strongly affects the hydrolysis rate of flocculants, the existing form and performance of hydrolysis products. Taking aluminum salts that achieve coagulation through the generation of Al (OH) 3 charged colloids as an example, when the pH value is less than 4, Al3+cannot be extensively hydrolyzed into Al (OH) 3, mainly in the form of Al3+ions, resulting in poor coagulation effect. When the pH value is between 6.5 and 7.5, Al3+hydrolyzes and polymerizes to form a highly polymerized Al (OH) 3 neutral colloid, which has a good coagulation effect. After the pH value is greater than 8, Al3+is hydrolyzed into AlO2-, and the coagulation effect becomes very poor.
The alkalinity of water has a buffering effect on the pH value. When the alkalinity is insufficient, lime and other chemicals should be added to supplement it. When the pH value of water is biased, it is necessary to add acid to adjust the pH value to neutral. In contrast, molecular flocculants are less affected by pH values. The coagulation effect of polymer Aluminium chlorohydrate coagulant is less affected by the pH of water, so it has strong adaptability to the pH change of water, but the price of polymer Aluminium chlorohydrate is also expensive.
